Plot: “Poor Things” (2023) is a darkly funny sci-fi film in Victorian London. A mad but genius scientist, Dr. Baxter (Willem Dafoe), uses extreme methods to revive a young woman, Bella (Emma Stone), from the dead. Initially, Bella was a naive girl, but, by the end of her adventure, her mind had changed a lot. Sick of her confined life, the girl runs away with an attorney, Duncan (Mark Ruffalo), and starts a crazy adventure. The movie depicts Bella’s path to inner freedom by challenging social norms alongside the weird and strange.
